Love is… “like a precious plant.”
“We’ve got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can’t just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it’s going to get on by itself. You’ve got to keep watering it. You’ve got to really look after it and nurture it.” ~John Lennon
Yesterday, I asked my FaceBook friends to help jump-start this blog: “Give me some real-world, fill-in-the-blank ideas for ‘Love is ____________.’ “
Received some great ones and hope there will be more. Because this is February. Valentine’s Day. Heart month. And 28 days shouldn’t be too hard to fill, right? 😉
But while I was searching for the right image to spark the subject, I came across the photo above of John Lennon helping his son Sean celebrate his birthday. Just another willing-to-be-silly dad, caught in the candle-wish.
So that’s this February 1st starting point: Love is living this moment. Nurturing it. And still being willing to imagine the next. “Because it’s a long way to go.”
